I agree that releasing this game with a steam Strap on was a complete mistake by the CA people. Well for me, as a customer, that's not worth it.Īnd I think that they're not that stupid at CA to only have a Steam-edition of the game, so I'm hopeful that a normal version of the game will show up in my local game shop.
The 'forcing it down my throat', without any options to opt out for no apparent reason seems overdone and not necessary.īut this whole thing of extra software, creating an account, unable to remove steam without disabling the game, etc., it's so much extra unnecessary hassle. (I wouldn't mind if that would mean ommitting the multiplayer-part, which I never use).

Or if you could opt to not install the steam software and just be just as happily able to play the game.

Look, I wouldn't have any trouble with the bundling of Steam if it was just a matter of registering online, filling in your key and that's that. This way CA pushes people that are willing to pay for the game, like me, to get the pirated version instead.Ī mistake often made (not necessarily by bundling it with Steam, but bundling it with excessive copy protection in general.). What's wrong with a normal game, with a normal game-setup? I just want to play the game without any hassle of me forcing to use thirdparty software.

I do not want to activate my game, I do not want to sign up with Steam. You can't even start the game without the steam software!Īnd when you remove the steam software from your computer you can't play the game EVEN THOUGH YOU BOUGHT IT. What's your issue with Steam? The fact that I need to make an account to activate ETW online, the fact that I need to have extra software on my computer.
